In the UK,it's estimated that up to 10 per cent of pregnant women suffer from high vital sign which, in turn, may be a known risk factor for dementia.
Mothers is also more likely to develop memory problems later in life if they'd high force per unit area after they were pregnant, a study has warned. In their study, Dr Adank and colleagues conducted memory tests on a complete of 596 women 481 of whom had normal force per unit area levels during pregnancy and 80 who had so-called gestational hypertension, which develops after 20 weeks.
The final 35 participants had pre-eclampsia, a pregnancy complication marked by high force per unit area usually during the latter half gestation and after labor similarly because the presence of protein in urine samples.
The researchers tested each woman's thinking and memory skills fifteen years after they'd born to their child.
The team found that subjects who had high pressure level while pregnant were susceptible to lower scores in tests of their immediate and delayed recall ability during which they were asked to recall an inventory of 15 words first instantly and again 20 minutes later.
This deficiency remained even after over factors that might have impacted the women's thinking skills like education level and pre-pregnancy body mass index (or BMI) were taken into consideration.
Specifically, those women who had high pressure during
their pregnancies scored a mean of 25 out of a possible
45 within the immediate recall test, which was given to
every woman 3 times compared to
twenty-eight for the opposite women.'Women with high vital sig that starts in pregnancy moreover as

hypertension and pre-eclampsia as risk factors for cognitive impairment that

this as a short lived issue during pregnancy and not realize it
could potentially have long-lasting effects.The team found no difference between the 2 groups as
regards tests of fine motor skills, processing speed, verbal fluency and
visual-spatial ability.
Dr Adank cautioned that the study doesn't prove
that there's a cause-and-effect relationship between
high pressure level during pregnancy and test scores later in life only an association.One limitation of the study was that no thinking or memory tests
were taken before the ladies were pregnant, or during pregnancy,
for the needs of creating baseline comparisons.
The researchers could also not study the result on
thinking skills of a pregnancy complicated by high pressure
level within one woman.Future studies are needed to see whether early treatment
of high pressure can prevent cognitive problems in women with a
history of high vital sign in pregnancy,' concluded Dr Adank.
High vital sign
High force per unit area, or hypertension, rarely has
noticeable symptoms. But if untreated, it increases your risk of
great problems like heart attacks and strokes. More than one in
four adults within the UK have high vital sign, although many
won't realize it. The only thanks to determine if
